About this site
Kahekili Beach, also known as Airport Beach or Old Airport Beach, is a shore dive at Ka'anapali on Maui, Hawaii. The reef starts close to shore, so marine life can often be found at relatively shallow depths. A massive coral reef stretches out for miles, and coral islands further out can be explored.
Entry is easy from the beach in normal conditions, but large north or west swells can make entry and exit dangerous, and waves also cut visibility. The site can be dived year-round.
Eels, colourful reef fish, nudibranchs and sea slugs are common. Turtles, barracuda, octopus, eagle rays and flying gurnard are occasional, and dolphins and monk seals are rare.
