About this site
Tanjung Besi sits off a rocky headland on Perhentian Besar, the larger of the two Perhentian Islands off the coast of Terengganu in Malaysia's South China Sea. Dive operators based on the island run boats out to points like this along the surrounding coastline. The site is a reef dive with a maximum depth of around 14 metres, rated suitable for beginners. Divers have reported barracuda, fusiliers, nudibranchs, trevally, and even whale sharks passing through here.
