About this site
Koh Yawasam lies among the limestone islands off the coast of Krabi province in southern Thailand, an area known for its karst formations rising from the Andaman Sea. Dive sites in this part of Krabi are typically reached by longtail or dive boat from towns such as Ao Nang or Krabi town. The reef here reaches a maximum depth of around 30 metres and is rated a beginner dive. Divers have reported a wide range of life around the reef, including barracuda, Bengal sergeants, blackeye thicklip, eagle rays, eightband butterflyfish, ghost pipefish, greenblotch parrotfish, Indo-Pacific sergeant majors, Java rabbitfish, manta rays, moon wrasse, moray eels, redbreast Maori wrasse, scorpionfish, sea turtles, stonefish, and even whale sharks passing through.
