About this site
Anemone Reef is a submerged pinnacle in the Andaman Sea off Phuket, typically dived on trips out of Phuket rather than Phi Phi despite regional listings, rising from deeper water to within a few metres of the surface. It is named for the dense carpet of anemones covering its upper reaches, and divers commonly encounter leopard sharks resting on the sand nearby, along with schools of fusiliers and snapper. Depths generally range from about 5 metres on the pinnacle top down past 20 metres along its sides. The site is often paired with nearby Shark Point on the same boat trip, and while the shallower sections suit most divers, current around the pinnacle can make it better suited to those with some open water experience.
