About this site
La Pared lies along the Guanacaste coast of northwestern Costa Rica, a stretch of Pacific shoreline known for volcanic rock formations and small coastal towns serving the local dive and surf trade. Boats operating out of nearby communities such as Playas del Coco typically run trips out to points along this coastline. Divers here have reported whitetip reef sharks and leopard round stingrays along the bottom, along with chestnut and jewel morays tucked into the rocks. Blue sea stars, Panamic cushion stars, and white-spotted puffers have also turned up on this site, alongside razor surgeonfish and giant damselfish moving over the reef.
