Labyrinth is a dive site located in the middle of a wide channel in Raa Atoll, Maldives, characterised by a network of large caves and canyons formed among huge flat boulders.
The top of the site reaches up to 12 metres, where the flat boulders form the shallowest point. Descending through the largest canyon reveals colourful soft corals and hard coral formations along the canyon walls, with a giant Gorgonian fan at the bottom. The site is rated Open Water level and is suitable for beginner divers.
Marine life at Labyrinth is varied across the water column. Schools of striped snappers, hump snappers, red snappers, yellow snapper, and jackfish fill the canyons, while tuna pass occasionally over the flat upper boulders. Batfish, reef sharks, and the occasional eagle ray are also regularly encountered here.
The site is reached by boat, approximately 35 minutes by dhoni from the nearest resort area.
