Little Okinawa

Little Okinawa is a wall and reef site off Sipadan Island in Sabah, on the Celebes Sea side of Malaysian Borneo. The site name references World War II era wreckage and coral formations said to resemble a bombed landscape, and it sits along the same steep drop-off system that rings the island. Sipadan's walls are known for strong currents, schooling barracuda and jacks, turtles, and occasional pelagics, and diving here is generally arranged through operators based on Mabul or Kapalai since overnight stays on Sipadan itself are restricted. Depths along the wall run from the shallows down to well past recreational limits, and the current makes it a dive better suited to divers with some drift experience.
