About this site
Los Arcos lies off Playa del Carmen on the Caribbean coast of Quintana Roo, part of the Yucatan Peninsula's stretch of reef sites, and is reached by a short boat run from the Playa del Carmen marina. It is a reef dive rated advanced, reaching a maximum depth of around 30 metres, with current and depth cited as hazards. Divers have reported barracuda, bull sharks, grouper, moray eels, octopus, sea turtles, and snapper around the reef.
