About this site
Makestone Rock lies among the Saltee Islands, off the coast of County Wexford in the Munster region of southeast Ireland, an area known for its exposed Celtic Sea waters. The islands sit south of Kilmore Quay, the usual mainland departure point for boats heading out to this stretch of coast. The site reaches a maximum depth of around 15 metres and is rated a beginner dive. Divers have also reported a silt current around the rock.
