About this site
East Brandy is a reef site off the Saltee Islands, a small archipelago closer to the County Wexford coast than Waterford proper, in the Munster region of southeast Ireland. The islands sit at the meeting point of the Irish Sea and Celtic Sea, an area known for rocky reefs and tidal flow around exposed granite outcrops. The site is rated a beginner dive, reaching a maximum depth of around 10 metres over reef ground, though current can run strong and is reportedly stronger still at springs. Divers have also reported silt about the site, along with sightings of cuttlefish, lobster, and wrasse.
