About this site
Manta Point lies near Njao Island off the western side of Pemba Island, part of the Zanzibar Archipelago in Tanzania. The island sits within the Njao Gap area, a channel used by local dive operators running trips out from Pemba's coastal villages. The site sits over a reef bottom with a maximum depth of around 12 metres, though it is rated technical rather than a straightforward shallow dive. Divers have reported eagle rays, leaf scorpionfish, nudibranchs, octopus, and scorpionfish here.
