About this site

Myrtie's Turtles sits along the edge of Turneffe Atoll, east of Belize City, the largest of Belize's three coral atolls, where the outer reef rim encloses a lagoon of mangroves and patch reefs. The site is typically reached by boat from lodges on the atoll or from day trips out of Belize City or Ambergris Caye. It reaches a maximum depth of around 15.2 metres but is rated a technical dive, and divers have reported nurse sharks along the reef here.
