About this site
The Nanshin Maru is one of several Japanese wrecks scattered around Coron Bay in Busuanga, part of the Palawan group in the Philippines, sunk during a United States air raid on the Japanese fleet in September 1944. It rests among a cluster of similarly dated wrecks off Busuanga that now draw wreck divers to the area, generally reached by banca boat from Coron town, with depths and conditions varying considerably from one wreck to the next in the bay. The site itself sits on a wreck bottom, and divers have also reported a manta ray passing through the area.
