About this site
Niyon (ニヨン) is a boat site about 60 minutes from Kuchinoshima in the Tokara Islands, Kagoshima Prefecture, on a vast rock formation between Yakushima and Kuchinoshima measuring about 2 km north–south and 1 km east–west, with countless dive points. The main attraction is schooling bigeye trevally, and whale sharks have been seen. It sits directly in the main flow of the Kuroshio, so the current is always fast. Advanced divers only.
