About this site
North Seymour Island is a dive site in the Galápagos archipelago, known for calm, beginner-friendly conditions and a diverse array of large marine species. The site sits a roughly 20-minute boat ride from Puerto Ayora on Santa Cruz Island.
The bottom is sandy with a maximum depth of around 10 to 12 metres (the exact depth varying with current), making it one of the most accessible sites in the archipelago for divers with little or no prior experience.
North Seymour is particularly noted for white-tip reef sharks, which are a reliable sighting here, along with whitetip reef sharks more broadly, mobulas, hammerhead sharks, eagle rays, and octopus.

Conditions are well suited to beginners: currents are light and the waters are calm, allowing new divers to focus on the environment rather than managing challenging conditions. Each dive lasts approximately 45 minutes, and all dives are conducted under the supervision of a Galápagos National Park–registered guide.
