Overhead Rock lies along the coast of Okinawa, the main island of the Okinawa chain south of Kyushu in Japan's southern waters. The site sits over a reef bottom and reaches a maximum depth of around 30 metres, generally rated an intermediate dive. Divers have reported it as an exposed site, so conditions on the surface and at the entry point can be a factor depending on weather and swell.
