About this site
Panorama Reef lies offshore from Qesm Safaga on Egypt's Red Sea coast, in the Red Sea Governorate south of Hurghada, and is typically reached by boat from Safaga. It is a reef dive rated advanced, reaching a maximum depth of around 40 metres with medium current running along the structure. Barracuda and tuna are regularly encountered here, and divers have also reported anthias, clownfish, fusiliers, jacks and amberjacks, lionfish, mackerel, Napoleon wrasse, nudibranchs, stingrays, trevally, reef sharks, eagle rays, manta rays, and even oceanic whitetip sharks passing the reef. The medium current and depth are the main reasons it is treated as a site for more experienced divers.
