About this site

Poipu Beach Park sits on the south shore of Kauai, near the resort area of Poipu in the Koloa district. It is a popular family beach with a sheltered swimming cove formed by a natural rock and sand barrier, and it is easily reached by road from Koloa and Lihue. The dive here goes over a reef bottom and is rated a beginner site, making it an easy shore entry for those staying nearby. Divers have reported arc-eye hawkfish, Christmas wrasse, dusky and orangeblotch surgeonfish, Hawaiian convict tang, saddle wrasse, Moorish idols, and green sea turtles around the reef, along with hump coral and spreading rice coral formations.
