About this site
Sheraton Caverns sits off Poipu on the south shore of Kauai, named for the nearby resort onshore. The site is a series of lava tubes and archways in a reef area that draws divers heading out from Poipu's dive operators, reaching a maximum depth of around 21.3 metres and rated a beginner dive over the cave and reef terrain. Frogfish are a regular find here, and divers have also reported eagle rays, leaf scorpionfish, reef sharks, and Hawaiian green sea turtles resting in the caverns. Swell and surge on the south shore can pick up depending on season and weather.
