About this site
Punta Lajial sits on the west coast of El Hierro, the smallest and southwesternmost of the Canary Islands, in a stretch shaped by the volcanic activity typical of this part of the archipelago. The coastline here is rugged lava formations dropping into the Atlantic, with dive access typically arranged through operators based on the island. The site reaches a maximum depth of around 40 metres and is rated a beginner dive, and divers have reported grouper among the life found here.
