About this site
Ribbon Valley is a reef site off Mabul Island, on Sabah's southeastern coast in Malaysian Borneo, part of the Semporna district's cluster of dive islands close to Sipadan. It is reached by short boat rides from Semporna town and dived from resorts based directly on Mabul itself. The site sits over a reef bottom to a maximum depth of around 30 metres. Divers have reported damselfish, nudibranchs, parrotfish, and scorpionfish here, making it a spot worth watching closely for smaller reef life alongside the more typical schooling fish.
