Santa Rosa Wall

Santa Rosa Wall lies off the west coast of Cozumel, part of the island's well known chain of drift dives along the Palancar reef system. The site is a sheer wall that drops from around 20 metres down past 30 to 40 metres before falling off into deep water, with divers typically following the wall along a current-driven drift rather than swimming a fixed route. It is known for large barrel sponges, overhangs and swim-throughs cut into the wall face, and for sightings of eagle rays, turtles and reef fish along the drop-off. Visibility here is usually very good, in keeping with Cozumel's reefs generally. Because of the depth and the current that drives the drift, it is often considered better suited to divers with some experience rather than complete beginners.
