About this site
Secret Tepekong lies near Tepekong (also called Mimpang) island off the southeast coast of Bali, close to Candidasa, and is reached by boat from the Candidasa or Padangbai area. The site sits within a stretch of coastline known for strong currents and cooler upwellings around its offshore rock formations. It reaches a maximum depth of around 40 metres. Divers have reported reef sharks and whitetip reef sharks here, along with yellowmargin morays, zebra lionfish, and semicircle angelfish. Blackspotted puffers, spotted porcupinefish, longfin batfish, oriental sweetlips, and striped surgeonfish have also been noted around the site.
