About this site
The Shamrock wreck lies near Ireland's Eye, a small island off Howth on the north side of Dublin Bay, County Dublin. Diving here is typically done from boats out of Howth harbour, along the island's rocky shoreline, and the site sits at a maximum depth of around 16 metres, rated a beginner dive. Divers have reported wave surge over the rocks as a hazard, along with the need to watch air consumption, and there have been reports of phosphorous shells on site that can ignite spontaneously if disturbed. Grey seals have also been spotted around the wreck, drawn to the rocks and shallows surrounding the island.
