Shark's Cove

Shark's Cove sits on the North Shore of Oahu, near Pupukea, within a marine life conservation district along Kamehameha Highway. The site is a lava rock cove popular with snorkelers and divers, known for calm conditions in summer and rough, often unsafe surf in winter when North Shore swells arrive. The bottom is rock, with a maximum depth of around 12 metres, and it's generally rated a beginner dive. Shallow pools and swim-throughs form in the volcanic rock, and divers have reported underwater caves along with the rocky terrain itself as things to watch for. Bannerfish have also been spotted here. Because of its exposure to seasonal swell, timing matters more here than technique, and many divers only enter the water during the calmer summer months.
