Shark Point

Shark Point lies off the Riviera Maya coast near Playa del Carmen, in the Quintana Roo stretch of Mexico's Yucatan Peninsula, an area reached by short boat rides from the town's dive harbor. The waters here sit along the barrier reef system that runs down this coastline into the wider Mesoamerican reef. The site reaches a maximum depth of around 27 metres and is rated an advanced dive, with current and depth among the conditions divers should expect. Bull sharks are a regular presence here, and divers have also reported grouper, moray eels, octopus, sea turtles, and snapper on the reef.
