About this site
Shirakuri (しらくり) is a shore-entry site on the Echizen coast of Fukui, with a maximum depth of 30 m and an average around 25 m. A chain of complex reefs runs out to sea with strong topography and dense fish life. Current is present and the flow is complicated, so with the 30 m depth the site is limited to intermediate divers and above. Pelagics, young yellowtail, Asian sheepshead wrasse, sea bream and resident fish such as fat greenling live around the reefs, with macro subjects on the reef tops.
