Siaes Tunnel

Siaes Tunnel is a well known dive site on the western reef of Palau's Rock Islands area, cut into a wall that drops off into deep water. It is known for a large swim-through tunnel, with entrances beginning around 20 to 30 metres, that opens onto the wall face and often has soft corals and sea fans decorating its mouth. The site is rated advanced, with a maximum depth of 50 metres, and divers have reported grouper, reef sharks, and stingrays around the tunnel and drop-off, along with the chance of larger pelagics cruising the blue. Because of the depth involved, the site carries the usual risks of deep diving, including nitrogen narcosis, and it is generally treated as a dive for those with more experience. Visibility along this outer reef is typically good, in keeping with the exposed, open water setting.
