About this site
SMS Dresden was a German light cruiser scuttled with the rest of the interned High Seas Fleet at Scapa Flow, Orkney, in June 1919. The wreck now lies on its side in the waters off the Orkney Islands in northern Scotland, broken by decades of salvage work but still recognisable as a warship hull with gun mounts and structural sections. Divers reach it as part of the well known Scapa Flow German fleet wrecks, reported at a maximum depth of around 25 metres. It is generally treated as an intermediate dive, suiting divers with some wreck experience rather than complete beginners.
