About this site
Sonnae (ソンナエ) is a boat dive at Susami on the Kii Peninsula in Wakayama, seven minutes from the harbour, with a maximum depth of 30 m and an average around 17 m. Fish concentrate on the central reef, with opaleye, chicken grunt and sweepers, and pelagic fish such as amberjack are more likely in summer. From spring to summer spiny lobster gather to breed and pack the gaps between the rocks. Slight current, intermediate and above.
