About this site
Susami Nakajima (すさみ 中島) is a boat dive at Susami on the Kii Peninsula in Wakayama, about ten minutes from the harbour, with a maximum depth of 18 m and an average around 15 m. The pinnacle is covered in sea fans, and from early summer schools of sweepers numbering in the thousands appear, with the coral hind that hunt them present all year. Harlequin shrimp, amberjack and striped beakfish are also seen. No current, suitable from beginner level.
