Styra

Makronisos is a narrow island lying off the coast of the Lavreotiki municipality at the southern tip of Attica, across a strait from the Greek mainland near Lavrio. The Styra dive site sits within these Aegean waters on a reef bottom, reaching a maximum depth of around 40 metres, though it is rated as a beginner dive overall. Divers here have reported grouper, moray eel, octopus, scorpionfish, and stingray, and some have noted current as a factor to watch for. This stretch of coastline has long been tied to mining and maritime traffic out of Lavrio's port.
