About this site
Sumiyoshi Oki (住吉沖) is a boat-dived reef about 5 minutes offshore from Sumiyoshi fishing harbour on Tanegashima in Kagoshima Prefecture, 30 minutes by boat, with a maximum depth of 18 m. A long rock reef runs north–south at 10–15 m and the dive drifts along the top of it. Butterflyfish, schools of mackerel scad, Moorish idols and bannerfish live around the rock, with juvenile emperor and semicircle angelfish in season. Intermediate and above.
