About this site
Keri Fish Reef (花里漁礁) is a boat-dived artificial reef off Tanegashima in Kagoshima Prefecture, about 15 minutes by boat, with a maximum depth of 15 m. Square concrete blocks are laid in a line about 200 m long running north-east at 6–7 m, and with attention to the current it is a calm, easy dive used for try dives and check dives. Schools of silver-stripe round herring form tornadoes around divers, and the blocks hold nudibranchs such as Hypselodoris festiva and the ivory-coloured Hypselodoris. Suitable from beginner level.
