About this site
Tachai Reef sits near Koh Tachai in the Similan Islands National Park area off the Andaman Sea coast of Thailand, a region reached mainly by liveaboard from Khao Lak or Phuket. The site reaches a maximum depth of around 18 metres and is generally considered an intermediate dive. Divers have reported angelfish, barracuda, batfish, fusiliers, sweetlips, and trevally moving over the reef, along with occasional sightings of leopard sharks, reef sharks, manta rays, Napoleon wrasse, and ornate ghost pipefish.
