About this site
Taota Pass is a channel site off Moorea in the Society Islands of French Polynesia, part of the reef passes that cut through the barrier reef surrounding the island. These passes connect the lagoon to open ocean and are typically reached by boat from the nearby coastal villages. Divers here have reported eagle rays and manta rays moving through the pass, along with snapper and tuna holding in the current.
