About this site
The Point is a dive site off Islamorada in the Florida Keys, an area characterized by shallow patch reefs and coral spur and groove formations typical of the upper Keys reef tract. Islamorada sits between Key Largo and Marathon along the Overseas Highway, with its dive and snorkel sites reached by short boat runs out from local marinas into the Atlantic side reefs. Divers here have reported a wide range of reef fish, including Atlantic blue tang, bicolor damselfish, Brazilian ocean surgeonfish, and Caribbean bluehead wrasse, along with clown wrasse, redband and striped parrotfish, slippery dick, white grunt, and yellowhead wrasse moving through the reef structure.
