About this site
The Potholes lies off Bazaruto Island in Mozambique's Bazaruto Archipelago, reached by boat from Vilanculos or from lodges on the island itself, over the reef and channel systems surrounding the archipelago. Despite a shallow maximum depth of around 12 metres, it is rated an advanced dive, with the swim-throughs and channel terrain that give the site its name adding to the difficulty. Divers have also reported bull sharks, nurse sharks, mackerel, and tuna passing through the site.
