About this site
The Tank is an artificial reef in Aqaba, made from an American M42 anti-aircraft tank that was deliberately sunk in shallow water in 1999. It sits at about 6 m (20 ft), so it is an easy, photogenic dive for beginners and underwater photographers.
The tank has drawn octopuses, scorpionfish and schools of juvenile fish. Water temperature is 21 to 27 C, the site is protected, and the current is light.
