About this site
The Tank, also known as M42, is a dive site off Jordan's Red Sea coast near Aqaba, named for a decommissioned military vehicle placed underwater as an artificial attraction. Aqaba's shoreline sits at the northern tip of the Gulf of Aqaba, with the Jordanian coast offering a short run of dive sites between the city and the border with Saudi Arabia. The wreck rests in shallow water with a maximum depth of around 6 metres, making it a beginner dive over a sandy bottom around the tank itself. Divers have reported damselfish, lionfish, nudibranchs, and seahorses around the structure.
