About this site
Ugachi no Arch (宇勝のアーチ) is a boat-dive reef off Yoron Island in Kagoshima Prefecture, about 10 minutes from Chabana harbour, with current from weak to strong. A huge L-shaped arch is the centrepiece, fish life is dense and fish feeding is done here; eagle rays and whale sharks have appeared in the past. Butterflyfish, sweetlips, goatfish, hawkfish anthias, bluefin trevally and dogtooth tuna are typical.
