About this site
Veligandu East lies on the fringe of Rasdhu Atoll in the Maldives, near Veligandu island in Raa Atoll, and is dived over a reef bottom with a maximum depth of around 30 metres. It is rated a beginner site, making it accessible for divers still building experience on the atoll's outer rim. Divers here have reported clownfish, fusiliers, sweetlips, and nudibranchs on the reef, along with larger passersby such as eagle rays, mobula rays, reef sharks, sea turtles, and Napoleon wrasse. Scorpionfish and stonefish have also been spotted, so care around the reef structure is worthwhile even on a gentle dive like this one.
