About this site
Aki no Hama (秋の浜) is a shore-entry site on Izu Oshima in the Izu Islands, Tokyo, with every element of a dive site in one place: boulders, sand, a slope, a wall and deep water. Four or more routes cover everything from macro to wide-angle; maximum depth around 40 m, average around 15 m, suitable from beginner level, with current possible below about 15 m. It is heavily used by photographers, and the exit is by ladder, which can get crowded; parking is in designated spaces only and the beach is shared with swimmers in summer.
