About this site
Atagawa Hatcho Oki (八丁沖) is a shore-entry site at Atagawa, Higashiizu, on the east coast of the Izu Peninsula in Shizuoka, with a maximum depth of 18 m, intermediate and above, with current in some seasons. It continues out beyond Hatcho, made reachable by an entry point short of that site, and opened in 2012. The entry area is boulders with a small arch, and the occasional current gives a good chance of large fish and schools of chicken grunt, jack, takabe and yellowtail; the level is set by the entry and exit, but can be discussed depending on conditions.
