About this site
Batee Meuduro sits off Weh Island, the volcanic island just north of Banda Aceh at the northern tip of Sumatra, in waters where the Indian Ocean meets the Andaman Sea. Dive sites around Weh Island are typically reached by boat from the town of Sabang. This one is a rocky site rated intermediate, with strong current and good visibility, and snapper are a reliable sighting over the rock bottom. Divers have also reported barracuda, fusilier, grouper, moray eel, humphead wrasse, reef shark, sea turtle, stingray, thresher shark, and trevally here, and strong currents are the main hazard to plan around.
