Caves

The Caves sits along the Sinai coast at Dahab, near the well known Canyon and Blue Hole sites north of town. Divers enter from a shore platform into a shallow lagoon before crossing the reef out to the drop-off, where a series of swim-throughs and small cavern openings give the site its name. Depths at the caverns themselves are moderate, generally reached within the first part of the dive, though the adjacent wall continues down well beyond recreational limits and has a reputation for drawing divers deeper than planned. It is considered a dive requiring good buoyancy and awareness of depth and air, given how easily the wall pulls attention downward. Reef fish and soft coral cover the shallow reef flat and swim-through areas, and divers have also reported freckled hawkfish and sulfur damsels among the coral.
