About this site
Gabr El Bint lies south of Dahab along the Sinai coast of the Red Sea, past Ras Abu Galum and closer to Blue Hole territory but further along the shoreline, reachable mainly by boat or a long desert drive. The area is known for its remote, undeveloped feel compared to the busier sites nearer Dahab town, with rocky, arid coastline running down to the water, within the broader Ras Abu Galum protectorate stretch. The site is a reef wall reaching a maximum depth of around 30 metres, rated advanced, and divers have noted caves along the terrain. Crocodilefish, fusiliers, parrotfish, scorpionfish, sea turtles, snapper, surgeonfish, trevally, triggerfish, and whale sharks are regularly encountered here, and divers have also reported anthias, glassfish, grouper, mackerel, Napoleon wrasse, squid, stingrays, and other wrasse on the wall.
