About this site
The Cedarville is a wreck site in the Straits of Mackinac near Cedarville, Michigan, in northern Lake Huron. The Cedarville was a limestone-carrying freighter that sank in 1965 after colliding with a Norwegian ship in fog, and it now lies on its side in the cold fresh water of the straits. It is a popular Great Lakes wreck dive, with much of the hull large and intact enough to explore over multiple dives. Because of its depth and the cold, dark conditions typical of the straits, it is generally considered a dive suited to those with wreck diving experience.
