About this site
Collins Point (コリンズポイント) is a boat site 3 minutes from Kumomi on the west coast of the Izu Peninsula, Shizuoka, dived for its underwater cave. The cave is dim inside and alive with nocturnal shrimps and crabs, while the mid-water levels of the overhanging wall are covered in soft and hard coral like a bed of flowers laid on its side; maximum depth 18 m, average around 12 m, from novice level, with current depending on the season. Cardinalfish, golden sweepers, stingrays, damselfish, sweepers, scorpionfish and frogfish are typical.
