Colombia Deep

Colombia Deep sits off the southern coast of Cozumel island, part of the reef system that runs along the island's leeward shore in the Yucatan Channel. It is known as a wall and deep reef dive, with the top of the reef structure dropping into deeper water and large coral formations, sponges, and swim-throughs cut into the profile. Drift diving is typical here, carried along by the medium current that runs along Cozumel's west side, and visibility is generally great. The site reaches a maximum depth of around 39.8 metres over a reef bottom and is rated an advanced dive, both for the depth and for managing the current. Divers have also reported eagle rays, reef sharks, sea turtles, and stingrays here.
