About this site
Donald Duck Bay sits on Similan Island number eight (Koh Similan) in the Mu Ko Similan National Park, off the coast of Phang Nga province in southern Thailand. The bay takes its name from a large granite boulder formation on the shoreline said to resemble the cartoon character, and it is reached by boat as part of the wider Similan Islands dive and snorkel routes in the Andaman Sea. The site reaches a maximum depth of around 40 metres and is rated a beginner dive. Divers have reported a wide range of marine life here, including grouper, lionfish, lobster, octopus, squid, sea turtles, blue dragon nudibranchs, moorish idols, orangestripe triggerfish, parrotfish and redlip parrotfish, red-tailed butterflyfish, striped surgeonfish, Indo-Pacific sergeant majors, and Malacca bluespotted maskrays.
